About this Database
Malaria Full-Length cDNA project

3.Current Status

We have constructed three Full-length cDNA libraries from erythrocytic stage human malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum and a Full-length cDNA library from erythrocytic stage murine malaria parasite, Plasmodium yoelii (for more detail, see Experimental Procedures) and performed one-pass sequencing from the 5' ends. Detailed statistics of the database is described in Statistics Section.

Update schedule of the databases will be presented here.

1997/03/31: Construction of Plasmodium falciparum full-length library. (libID. 1.0)
1999/01/01: Start of large scale sequencing of the libID 1.0.
2000/09/01: Database Release 1.0 (2490 5' one-pass sequences, XPFn).
2003/02/10: Database Release 1.1 (4203 5' one-pass sequences, XPF2n).
Sequences were mapped on the genome sequences.
2003/09/15: Database Release 1.2 (4744 5' one-pass sequences XPFm, XPFt).
Database Release 2.0
Full-length cDNA data of Plasmodium yoelii (4399 5' one-pass sequences XPYs).
P. yoelii contig sequences were mapped on P. falciparum genome sequences. XPYs sequences were mapped on P. yoelii contig sequences.
